MINUTES OF OCTOBER STAFF MEETING
Psychology Department
October 14, 1969
The Psychology Department held its October meeting at 4 o'clock in EP 104.
All faculty members were in attendance except Mrs. Stapleton who had a class away
from campus.
Dr. Martoccia reported for the Library Committee emphasizing procedures to be used
in ordering books and periodicals.
All standing committees were invited to make reports.
All standing committees were instructed to be prepared to report to the staff on
developments at the next regularly scheduled staff meeting.
Dr. Grossnickle reported for the Ad Hoc Committee chosen to study student-faculty
committees. It was decided by the staff that a Student Advisory Committee would
be established composed of 6 undergraduate students and 2 graduate students with
one graduate student coming from the clinical program and one from the general-
theoretical program. The representation on this Committee would be determined by
Psi Chi, the honorary fraternity in psychology. Such a Committee would meet with
the Chairman and other staff members as appropriate throughout the year.
Dr. Prewett discussed the institutional equipment assistance grants from NSF and
other agencies. It was tentatively decided by the staff that we should perhaps try
to get a broadly based equipment grant to assist in courses other than 101, 210,
and 310. Dr. Boice Daugherty was appointed chairman of this committee to develop
this grant. He was instructed to pick his own committee members.
Dr. Prewett ruled that Dr. Dixon's proposal regarding course changes be referred
to the Curriculum Committee for consideration.
The meeting adjourned at 5 o'clock.
