Tobacco Seed.

Capt. Pace says onéof the prime
and essential réquisites tu the
success of a tobacco crop is safe,
reliable seed and his observation
in traveling around this summer
was ~hat for the most part
the plants turned out for seed
by our farmers were selected
becz use of the overgrown size of
the plant evidentiy caused by
being set where there was a com-
post heap, or where the guano
bag was placed and more or less
spilled. Plants grown from such
will neverT make fine to » go
donTt pin your faith to b when
fresh, reliable seed can be had of
our draggists. Quality not quan-
tity is what pays, and if I was
asked to name the best seed I
would not hesitate to name the
Lorg Leaf Gooch and Hester as
most applicable to the Eastern
section.

Monday has got to be about as good a

the sales continued al! day.

Shut Up Ten Days.

The horse which got away
from Capt. John KingTs boys on
circus day was found Sunday in
an unused stable just on the out-

that some one shut the horse up
in the stable, and from the way
the animal had gnawed the sides
of the stable there is donuht if it
bad had food or water for several
days, perhaps. not in the two
weeks it has been lost.
