Raw footage of Professor of History and University Historian Dr. John A. Tucker interviewing Dr. Larry Tise about East Carolina University's Thomas Harriot Lecture Series and his scholarly research on Thomas Harriot. Tise speaks about the purpose of the Harriot series to familiarize people in Eastern NC and at ECU about Harriot's life and work and explore related topics, how the series has led to ECU's participation in new research on Sir Walter Raleigh, plans for upcoming Thomas Harriot Lecture Series events, how he became involved in Harriot studies and the role he has, and how the ECU College of Arts & Sciences was named for Harriot. Tise also gives a summary of Harriot's activities in the New World and the history of the earliest colonies, and describes how Harriot advised Sir Walter Raleigh to provide more support to the lost Roanoke colony. Interview held February 27, 2009.
