Dear Bill and Martha Nell:
I°m overjoyed that you??o1l be able to present a special performance of
A. R. Gurney??Ts Love Letters at the 1991 National Conference on Outdoor Drama,
October 24-27, in Bardstown, KY.
The plan is to go through the banquet, listen to the speakers (hopefully for no
more than 15 minutes), and then to ask everyone to turn their chairs toward
another section of the hotel ballroom where they will see the two of you on a
platform sitting on tall stools. How does that sound? I assume you prefer to
do without microphones...right?
As we agreed, the Institute will pay for Martha Nell??os roundtrip airfare
from RDU to Louisville. It would be best for us if you went ahead and made
reservations now, as rates have been recently lowered. We will reimburse you
when you return and give us the ticket receipt. However, if that plan is
awkward, let me know and we will figure out another way.
The banquet will be Saturday, October 26, at The Holiday Inn in Bardstown.
Jim Blevins, dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Southern
Indiana and producer of Young Abe Lincoln (Lincoln City, IN), will be master of
ceremonies for the evening.
I??Tve enclosed a copy of the conference schedule which has already gone to press.
You will receive brochures containing conference registration and hotel
reservation forms in early September.
In the meantime, give me a call if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Scott J. Parker
Director
