Dear Tom:
Thank you for your letter of August 23 regarding your
participation in the 28th Annual Managers, Directors and
Promoters Conference, sponsored by the Institute of Outdoor
Drama, to be held in Cherokee, NC, October 5-7, 1990.
We are delighed that you and members of the cast of The Reach
of Song have agreed to present a special evening of
entertainment at this year�?Ts conference.
As we discussed, you have agreed to prepare a conceptual
presentation, lasting approximately one hour, of The Reach of
song, to be performed Friday, October 5, from 8:30 to 9:30pm
in the Cherokee High School auditorium. A question and
answer session from 9:30 to 10:00pm will follow the
performance.
As we discussed, the presentation will include 10-12
performers from The Reach of Song, including fiddler James
Farist, who will perform brief dramatic and musical
interludes from the play. These will be interspersed with
narrative by you on the process of creating an historical
drama using the Georgia mountains heritage.
The Institute agrees to an honorarium in the amount of
$300.00, payable to The Reach of Song and delivered to you
no later than October 5, 1990, to help defer travel expenses
for yourself and the others.
If you are in agreement with the arrangments as stated,

organization in place of you) and return the signed original
