Negative of a mid to late 19th century portrait of John Flanagan from the Daily Reflector Collection. The photograph is by N.H. Busey (Norval H. Busey), Baltimore. Date from negative sleeve. John Flanagan was a Pitt County manufacturer. He established the John Flanagan Buggy Company in Greenville after the Civil War. Flanagan held various public positions in Greenville and Pitt County. Although he was elected mayor of Greenville, he declined the position due to a lack of time to devote to the post. (Neville, John D. "Flanagan, John."
