Description
A handwritten letter from Venetia Cox at the Anglican Mission's Chung Te School in Peking [Beijing], China, to her mother, B. T. Cox, in Winterville, North Carolina. She writes that she has been ill with malaria and is missing her Chinese examinations because of it. She discusses having to travel with her bedding since it is not provided in other places, and she mentions seeing a concert by a Russian trio. Also, she discusses the death of a man from the Congregational Board by typhus fever. A native of Winterville, Venetia Cox was an Episcopal missionary music teacher in mainland China between 1917 and 1950.
