Copy of a handwritten account of life at Green Wreath Plantation in Pitt County, North Carolina. It was written by Elizabeth Sparrow McCord (1855-1945) as an addendum to the reminiscences of her sister Annie Sparrow Lewis. The Sparrow family stayed at Green Wreath Plantation during the war after being driven out of their home in Washington, N.C. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
