Victory Bell
View of the Victory Bell by Christenbury Memorial Gymnasium and the path that runs by it at East Carolina College. Plaque reads: "Erected by Veterans Club, 1953, in recognition of men and women of ECC who served in our country's armed forces" Cast in Philadelphia in 1855, the bell was used on the USS Broome, which was christened in 1919. The Victory Bell was a gift to the college from the United States Department of the Navy.
