- Letter from Abraham G. Jones to his father in which discusses engagements with Union troops, the desire of Confederate forces to retake Washington, N.C., and rumored fighting near Kinston. The letter was written from Camp Singletary, a Confederate outpost near Tranter's Creek and the Tar River about six miles north of Washington according to Jones.
