Biographical/historical information

On April 10, 2011, East Carolina University's (ECU) Joyner Library and ECU's Anthropology professors Ricardo Contreras and David Griffith, launched the Latino Oral History Archive. The archive includes written and audio versions of interviews conducted with leaders of the Latino community of eastern North Carolina, as part of the project Celebrating Latino Leadership, funded through a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council. Although not all interviews are available at this time, once completed the archive will include the accounts of twelve Latino community leaders who have settled in this part of the state.
