National
This material focuses on the national level of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. The dates of the material go from 1939 through 2012 with some material undated. The variety of subjects include the history of the USCGA, its membership, uniforms, instruction/training, boat examinations, boating safety, boating skills and seamanship as well as the USCGA's organization and how it functions. Among the types of material that can be found are certificates, correspondence, directories/rosters, financial documents, handbooks, manuals, meeting minutes, newsletters, reports, statistics and other miscellaneous publications. Material that we have in bulk are certificates, correspondence, history documents, manuals, minutes, newsletters, and statistics with the most notable bulk material being "The Blue Ensign," USCGA's first national publication and "The Navigator," USCGA's national magazine.

1st District
Material (1942-2008, undated) that documents the history of the 1st District of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. This material includes district level items as well as material from both the northern region and the southern region. The bulk of the material consists of meeting minutes and newsletters but there are also certificates, correspondence, directories/rosters, manuals, and other miscellaneous items.
