John Tucker Aug 27 2010

The tobacco warehouse is Farmer's Warehouse. It had a special connection to JFK: on Sept. 17, 1960, when he barnstormed NC with campaign rallies in Greenville, Greensboro, Charlotte, and Raleigh, the first place that he stopped, other than the Greenville airport, was Farmer's Warehouse. Arthur Tripp hosted a mock auction of tobacco, and Kennedy, who seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, made brief remarks on his farm program.
