When the dried tobacco was taken to market it had been graded at the pack house according to its quality. Then it was tied into neat bundles and placed on a smooth grading stick. It was then loaded into a truck and carried to the warehouse where it was removed from the sticks and packed into a basket to be placed on the warehouse floor to be sold.
