Abstract:
The 1963 General Assembly created the Courts Commission and charged with carrying out Article IV of the state constitution. The fifteen member committee was granted seven years to complete this task. One of the biggest problems the commission faced was organizing a series of district courts to be run under the Superior Court.

Abstract:
Both the State House and Senate signed the \"Judicial Department Act of 1965,\" a measure which enhances the state's lower court system. The act became effective July 1, 1965 and its effect on counties throughout the state is presented. One of the principle changes was the increase in court costs under the Law Enforcement Benefit Fund.
