Although ranked No. 2 nationwide in the filmmaking industry, the N.C. Film Council, an advisory group, feels the film office should broaden its scope to include things like cable channel production, imaging technology, and post-production activities.
Abstract:
The North Carolina Film Board was formed in 1962 under the supervision of Governor Terry Sanford. In the first three years, the board was responsible for twenty documentary projects depicting the state's history. Despite this success, state funding was due to be renewed in 1965 and the author presents pros and cons for continuing the Film Board.
