Standing in a quiet section on the edge of Durham, Five Oaks Clubhouse gives a living room appeal to the Forty Acres concerts held there on Saturday nights. The venue is small, seating just over one hundred, which gives the audience the opportunity to sit close to the stage and meet performers during breaks. Performers have come for decades, some known like Tiff Merritt or David Olney, others just beginning careers.

Abstract:
The Triangle area has experienced bigger crowds at music venues lately. The Greer club in Durham is hoping that continues . The new club will be the fourth largest rock club in the Triangle. Two more clubs may open next year in Raleigh and possibly another in Durham. The growing rock club scene is detailed with owners, musicians, and booking agents discussing the trend.

Raund Haus is a group of instrumental hip-hop and electronic beat makers Durham. They play at a small venue called The Shed, and recently launched their own record label. As Raund Haus gains popularity, Durham is becoming a burgeoning hub for experimental electronic music.
