George Honeycutt, staff photographer for The Charlotte News, was awarded the distinction of the nation's number one press photographer. Honored at a ceremony held at the University of Missouri, Honeycutt, a native of High Point, North Carolina, was educated at the School of Modern Photography, in New York City.
