Abstract:
Ten cities nationwide were designated All-America cities this year. North Carolina had two of them, Laurinburg and Wilson, and the city of Thomasville was a finalist. The award honors cities best exemplifying civic excellence.

Abstract:
It is an honor for a state to have a city named an All-American City. This year's competition in Denver had twenty finalists. North Carolina had three chosen to receive the award--Dunn, Garner, and Thomasville. The award recognizes projects that solve community problems. This year the contest spotlighted projects that honor veterans and their families.
