In this interview, East Carolina University’s new provost Ron Mitchelson comments on the upcoming Fall 2016 term. Mitchelson was previously a professor of geography when he first arrived at ECU in 1999, but before then he held positions at the University of Georgia and Morehead State University.

Caroline Dare is a sixteen-year-old singer-songwriter from Greenville, North Carolina. Dare released her first record, “Me,” in April. She wrote or co-wrote all six songs with her guitar teacher, Eric Halbig.

Places in the Heart recently joined the Magnolia Arts Center, Smiles and Frowns Playhouse, Whirligig Stage, and Farmville Community Arts Council as the theatrical presence in the community. An associate of Magnolia Theatre she is “cautiously optimistic” though about establishing dramatic arts options comparable to the long established sporting offerings.
