Abstract:

North Carolina State University's pulp and paper science and technology program is one of only seven in the nation. Although 66 percent of the country's pulp and paper capacity is in the South, NC State's program is the only one in the region. Since the mid-1950s, the program had educated nearly 900 students to work in that field.
