Growing up in Hayesville, Howard Blankenship has been quilting since he was a boy, a skill handed to him and his siblings by his grandmother Bertha. Winston-Salem native Zak Foster started quilting in 2010, Som of his creations have appeared at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
