Description
Document detailing the enrollment of the schooner Mary by Timothy Hunter of Pasquotank County, N.C. at Elizabeth City, N.C. The Mary was a 48 and 13/95 ton, two mast schooner built in Elizabeth City in 1844. Additional specifications for the ship are detailed in the document. George W. [Piner/Poiner?] is noted as the master of the ship in 1855 and a note by the Elizabeth City Customs House on the rear side of the document notes Wm. Walker's takeover as master of the ship on June 23, 1857.
