Dear Kermit:

Thanks so much for agreeing to serve on one of the Paul Green Seminar
panels at the National Conference on Outdoor Drama, October 25-28, 1995, on
the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I?Tm sorry I?Tm so late in writing to spell out
the particulars, but we needed to put the conference brochure to bed, and now
that we?Tve done that, I?Tm free to write.

The Paul Green Seminars this year will focus on what many feel is the most
important issue in outdoor drama today: production quality. We?Tve asked
some of the premiere artistic directors, playwrights, producers and sages to
speak on assigned topics all dealing with what?Ts to be done to improve and
maintain production quality. We?Tre asking everyone to go right to the heart of
the matter in a no-holds-barred, no-pulling-punches, spirited discussion. We
would like for you to focus on WHAT SHOULD BE DONE. Tell it like it is,
and don?Tt beat around the bushes. Your specific subject, which only you will
address is:

?oMaintaining the Integrity of the Script?

You will be on a panel with two other playwrights, and the session is
scheduled from 10:45am - 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 28, in the Ramada Inn,
Kill Devil Hills, NC, mile post 9%.

Your fellow panelists and their topics will be:

John Ahart, playwright, Your Obedient Servant, A. Lincoln, Petersburg, IL
?oShould Our Scripts Reinvent the Past to Fit the Present?

Rusty Mundell, playwright, Shadows in the Forest, Harrodsburg, KY
?oMixing Substance and Spectacle?

Marsha Warren, executive director of the Paul Green Foundation, will serve as
the moderator. Our plan is for her to give a brief introduction, and to turn it
over to each panelist for their remarks. As you can see, the time is short, and
so each person will be limited to 10-15 minutes tops. After all three people
have had their say, Marsha will open the seminar for questions from the floor.
We want to have at least 20-30 minutes for that if we can. So, if you will, watch
your time.

As the name implies, these seminars are sponsored by the Paul Green
Foundation. They have been very generous in their support and to help offset
your expenses, will be sending you a check for $250.

Thanks again for taking this on for us. We think these seminars will address a
critical need and the plan is to record the sessions for transcription and
distribution to those who could not attend. We also plan to have a reporter
cover the seminars for a subsequent story in U.S. Outdoor Drama.

If you have any questions about these plans, please let me know. You should
be getting the conference brochure with registration forms any day now.

Sincerely,

Scott J. Parker
Director
