Margaret Scales Oct 19 2009

W. M. "Booger" scales was a wonderful father who emphasized values ranging from loyalty and generosity to the immediate payment of gambling debts. He differentiated between one's being a minimum or a maximum citizen, and couldn't believe one of his children was actually paid for raising money for community projects. We three children and our mother have fabulous memories of his antics but remember most his steadfast love of us.

W.M. "Booger" Scales, born 06/06/1924, died 12/25/2001. A lifetime Greenville NC resident; served in US Army European Theater WWII. Married to Virginia Gaylord in 1949. A life insurance agent for 45 years, leader of his beloved Integon Life Insurance Company in sales for 18 years, top 3 for 35 years. Charitable and civic fundraiser, instrumental in leading original and expansion Ficklen Stadium fund drives, Arlington Blvd. Boys Club building drive, and many more. A character with character, never met a stranger, loyal to a fault, a "shirt off his back" member of our fading Greatest Generation. Unbiasedly submitted by his son.......
