- Photo of Waterside Theatre, home of The Lost Colony, being built. The theatre was built through the Works Progress Administration (WPA), as part of the New Deal. The first director, Samuel Selden, saw to it that the stage was built first, so that the cast could rehearse while the theatre was completed.
