- Track Chart of USS Pine Island (AV-12) for Operation Highjump. Operation Highjump's primary mission was for the Navy to establish an Antarctic research base. The USS Pine Island (AV-12) was a Currituck-class seaplane tender that was used in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam; winning nearly a dozen medals for its service. Text on the reverse of chart reads, "Confidential. AAE1293. Official Photograph.Not to be used for publication by order of the Chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics."
