This building was a home for unwed mothers in 1982. We were lepers back then. It was called Laverna Heights and run by Nuns. I stayed here through my pregnancy and stayed with my baby a few weeks after I had him. It was a sterile environment and smelled like pine sol. I am 60 now, stayed there when I was 20. Just seeing this building triggers me. The place had real bad vibes..

I found a postcard today that was postmarked 1926 and it was mailed from my great uncle to my great-grandfather, Nickolas Ruppert, who was a patient at the sanitorium during that time period.
