- Letter from A. G. Hubbard in Halifax N.S. to Thomas Sparrow. Hubbard writes that he sent Sparrow a fine cheese, some candles, and other things by the Steamer Charlotte as provision for the expected siege. He tells Sparrow to write to him about any news of the war and asks him to send a copy of the confederate tax law. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
