Letter from George Attmore Sparrow to his father Thomas Sparrow from Green Wreath, a plantation house in Pitt County, NC. George writes to his father about sending some food including a barrel of vinegar and a barrel of peas. He asks for a barrel of flour at about $9.00 to use for himself and for his farm hands. George adds that his farm is progressing splendidly. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
