Description
Letter from George Attmore Sparrow in Okaw, Illinois to his father Thomas Sparrow. George writes that the strawberries his father ordered have not arrived and neither has the barrel of potatoes. George says that his father should try to be there by the fourth of July. George then relates how the family spent the previous day. He also says that his Grandma is preparing for Aunt Caddie’s visit during the summer and talks about it all the time. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
