- Description
- Tolles learned microscope making with Charles Spencer. He then moved to Boston and set up a factory with Stodder. This microscope was designed for use by students at Harvard Medical School. It came in a variety of configurations, most commonly without the rack and pinion. An instrument almost identical to this one was presented to the Museum at Harvard Medical School by the former Dean, Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes.
