Ernst Gundlach was a German microscope maker, who emigrated to the U.S. In the 1870's, he designed microscopes and optics for Bausch and Lomb, leaving with ill feeling in 1876. He was involved with a number of companies and manufactured several models of microscopes and objectives in several cities. The microscope was probably manufactured by Gundlach Manhattan Optical Company between the dates of 1880 and 1905. more...
