Description
Letter, dated January 19, 1960, from Senator John F. Kennedy to East Carolina College president Leo W. Jenkins. Kennedy is responding to a request for him to speak at the 7th Annual World Affairs Day at East Carolina, and says he must decline the invitation because he will be campaigning for the Democratic nomination for President. Kennedy mentions that North Carolina Congressman [Herbert] Bonner personally extended the invitation to him.
