- Advertisement for Ayer's Hair Vigor depicting four mermaids with long flowing locks: one with a crate with the words "Ayer's Hair Vigor", one with a bottle, one with a mirror, and one holding a lock of hair. Three more mermaids are swimming toward a shipwreck. The heading is: "Ayer's Hair Vigor for the Toilet Restores Gray Hair to its Natural Vitality and Color". At the bottom is: Prepared by Dr. J.C. Ayer & Co., Lowell, Mass, U.S.A. The reverse of the card states that Ayer's Hair Vigor has "choice ingredients requisite to produce a preparation which restores gray hair to its original color, prevents baldness, preserves the hair and promotes its growth, cures dandruff and all diseases of the hair and scalp".
