White, HQ 28th Marines, 5th Marine Division, Iwo Jima, to Miss Mary Bason in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, describing the fighting on Iwo Jima from 19 February - 10 March 1945, including his role in the capture of Mt. Suribachi from the Japanese. Also including 2 captured Japanese picture postcards, one featuring the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo etched by Mitsuki, and the other featuring a portrait of a woman entitled "The Moon" by Nakamura.
