Rectangular wood box has inset lid hinged at one end, two hooks and screws latch at other end, brass handle on side of box. Two metal clamps on interior of lid hold narrow glass tube with bulbous base. Tube base rests on indented wood block. Hand written red numbers on tube from 10 to 300 in increments of 10. Small glass spout at tube bottom fits into black rubber tubing. Black cloth arm band and black lozenge shape hand pump with metal valve are at the end of tube. Hand pump is marked “Asheville, N.C.” Small glass bottle with glass stopper filled with mercury is inside box.more...
