Description
Presentation of the 1952 Mackay trophy for the most meritorious flight of the year to the crew of North American RB-45 jet Tornado for the first non-stop jet flight across the Pacific Ocean. Presented in Washington D.C. November 1953 by USAF Chief of staff General Nathan F. Twining. Left to right: Charles Logsdon, General Twining, Major Louis H. Carrington, Major Frederick W. Shook, Captain Wallace D. Yancey, and Major General Robert Landry the Deputy Commander of the Second Air Force. The crew is from the Second Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana.
