I was four years old and my brother was six when we watched President Eisenhower's motorcade go by. We lived just off Elmendorf Base, where my Dad worked as a Civil Engineer. My Dad actually took home movies of the President's motorcade as it passed us on the sidewalk; not sure if that film survived the passage of time.
I was 6 years old when the President came to Elmendorf Air FOrce Base in Anchorage, Alaska. I remember viewing his motorcade from my bedroom window which was on the front side of the main street of the military housing area. I remember lookind down on his head as he passed by my window and seeing his bald head. He had removed his hat.

I recall my parents taking myself and my younger sisters to see Ike at Elmendorf. The motorcade drove by us and we got a good glimpse of the great man as they passed by. I was 10 years old at the time.
