When JFK spoke at the Football Stadium, the ECC/ECU Band was immediately in front on the stage. As I was a freshman Music Major, I was delegated to playing cymbals which meant I was in the very back with my back to the stage. During an interval where the band was playing and JFK was mingling with the stage dignitaries and participants, I turned around and leaned over the stage edge, and JFK saw me and came over to shook my hand!
