Greenville in Reelife
Title: Greenville in Reelife
Identifier: 0870-b12-i2   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/61841)
Description: This 16mm acetate reel contains a silent, itinerant film that was captured in June 1941 by E. V. Atkinson, director and cinematographer for Reelife Motion Pictures. The footage includes scenes of Greenville, North Carolina including East Carolina University, city officials, city departments, industries, street scenes, churches, civic clubs, and beauty spots and was first shown at the Pitt Theatre. While the film presents many aspects of life at the time, it is only a snapshot of a segment of Greenville and is not representative of the entire community. Conservation and digitization of this film was made possible with funding from the National Film Preservation Foundation, a grant-giving public charity, affiliated with the Library of Congress's National Film Preservation Board.
