Her mother and father and other relatives were professors and two relatives were presidents of the college. The book gives accounts of people, places, issues of all sorts, centered on Guilford College, Guilford County, and Greensboro. There is at least one reference in it to Tarboro, N.C. where Winslow lived for over 50 years.
