Letter to Lois Jackson Dees from Leon W. Jackson
Title: Letter to Lois Jackson Dees from Leon W. Jackson
Identifier: 1059-b1-fb   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/37530)
Description: Letter received by Lois Jackson Dees, Goldsboro, North Carolina, from her brother Pvt. Leon W. Jackson, serving in the U.S. Army in Company D, 5th Training Battalion Camp Wheeler, Georgia. The letter is written on stationery featuring cartoons of anti-Axis propaganda. Jackson mentions a visit to Macon, Ga., during the weekend, that he saw two films—Random Harvest and So Proudly We Hail, that he threw his first hand grenade, and his recent camp activities. Included is a church program from the Mulberry Street Methodist Church, Macon, Ga., for their worship service on 22 August 1943. Jackson notes that he included the program because of the poem in it.
