Description: The Grunow Brothers, begun by Julius and William Grunow, was probably the second microscope manufacturing firm in the U.S. In 1863 they moved from New Haven, CT to New York; and in 1874 the firm became J. Grunow. They made the early Riddell binocular microscope and also early inverted microscopes.
