Vitiligo
Title: Vitiligo
Identifier: LL02.49.00.129   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/21235)
Description: Dermatologic stereoview card. Front of card depicts a side view of the female patient with Vitiligo evident throughout the torso. The reverse of the card describes the condition and discusses diagnosis and treatment. Vitiligo is noted as a condition resulting in the loss of pigment in sharply circumscribed areas of the skin. Spots appear as round or oval white dots and increase in size. Pigmentation regained in areas affected by Vitiligo is indicated as extremely rare. No treatment is available, though the card indicates that color can be masked by staining them with walnut juice. Vitiligo may also be known as Leucoderma, Leucopathia, Leucasmus, or Achroma.
