Description: Dermatologic stereoview card. Front of card depicts the hand of a patient spotted with Variola rash lesions. The reverse of the cards describes the condition including diagnosis and treatment. Variola is indicated to be a contagious fever whose incubation period is approximately 14 days to the outcrop of the rash. The card notes, 'one of the most important characteristics of the small-pox eruption is its distribution. The rash develops from above, downwards.' There is no specific treatment, though vaccines exist to protect against infection. Variola may also be known as Small-Pox.
