Description: Three items are grouped together. First is an envelope dated 27 January 1898 from Eureka Lumber Company, Washington, North Carolina, to Jane Moore, Greenville, N.C. Second is a receipt dated 2 October 1895 for Rickey Moore to use a patented method of hanging tobacco on his Pitt County farm. The third item on the reverse is a U.S. Internal Revenue receipt to John Moore for payment of $57.00 for Special Tax Stamp to retail tobacco in Greenville, North Carolina, from May 1874 to May 1875. Included at the bottom is a biographical note: "Jane Moore, Rickey Moore, and John Moore were children of John Moore Senior. Jane sold lumber; Rickey received money for a promotion; and John paid a tobacco tax."
