Description: Michelle A. Francis' interview with Jack Kiser, who worked as a potter in 1930's and 1940's North Carolina. Mr. Kiser discusses some of the pottery shops in which he worked, including that of Walter Lineberry and various members of the Cole family. He also claims to have used the first oil-fired kiln in North Carolina, before the U.S. government restricted the use of oil during World War II. He talks about the differences between pottery fired in wood kilns versus oil kilns.
