This house is thought to have been built for Allen Hardee (1802-1870) in the mid-1840s after he migrated to Greene Co., NC, from Pitt Co., NC. Allen deeded this house and farm to his son, Epenetus in 1869. A negative of this photo is at the N. C. State Archives, Raleigh (Negative Number: N.89-6-167).
