The 20th Yearbook (1961) had me finishing War College and headed for a year in a tanker. There followed three interesting years in London with the Royal Navy, working on the US/UK Polaris Program. Retired in September 1966 to accept a civil service position with NASA as senior Staff Officer to the Director of Kennedy Space Center where I stayed for seven years during the entire Apollo Program. Then came a five-year "hardship tour" in Paris as the NASA European Representative. Ruth and I lived in a top floor apartment on the Left Bank, overlooking the rooftops and sites of that beautiful city. We had no car or TV, I walked to the office, we did all our shopping on the local economy, and we traveled extensively. In 1978 we returned to California, where I headed up the NASA Office at Vandenberg AFB that assisted the USAF in the building of a shuttle launch site, as yet unused. We also launched a dozen or so satellites on NASA Delta rockets. Retired again in 1983 and continue to live in Santa Barbara. Three children all married: seven grandchildren. Oldest son, Patrick, is now Captain, USN "climbing the rigging like his Daddy used to do".
